Pet 'Spay & Neuter' Program (Nancy Beard Fund)
The Nancy Beard Fund was started as the result of a bequest of a long time Rangely Resident, Nancy Beard upon her death. Nancy Beard lived in Rangely all her life, during which Rangely was experiencing a problem with stray cats and dogs. When she found that she had terminal cancer and decided to put her affairs in order, she willed an amount of money to create a fund to be used in order to assist with the spaying and neutering of stray or unwanted animals. The fund was set up during the winter of 2000.
Through this fund and donations made by other residents, the Police Department has administered the funds and assisted numerous pet owners and potential pet owners by arranging discounted spaying & Neutering of their pets (and adopted pets) from the animal shelter. Contact the Police Department for information and an Application.
