Al-Anon

Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. The primary purpose is to help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of problem drinking.

The only requirement for membership is having a relative or friend who is an alcoholic (and who also may abuse other drugs). There are no dues for Al-Anon membership. Each Al-Anon Family Group is autonomous and self-supporting through voluntary contributions.

The meetings offer free, anonymous, confidential, nonprofessional mutual support groups to help those whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking. Click here for a schedule of Al-Anon and Alateen meetings in the Fort Collins area.

Similarly, Alateen, which is sponsored by Al-Anon members, provides hope and recovery to young people who are affected by alcoholism in parents, relatives or friends.

More information about Al-Anon is available on the Internet World Wide Web at the World Service Office.
