Make A Difference Day Home Page What is Make a Difference Day?
Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that will take place the week of October 20-25, 2008. Volunteer projects are recruited from local nonprofits, churches, schools and neighborhoods. In 2007, over 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns. In Larimer County alone, over 3,500 volunteers came together to complete 130 projects.
Ways to get involved
Goals of Make a Difference Day
Make a Difference Day Schedule Monday, October 20th through Saturday, October 25th, 2008 Two shifts per day: 8am – 12pm and 1pm - 5pm.
These community-wide volunteer projects involve all groups of volunteers, including individuals, families, service clubs, faith-based organizations, schools, businesses and corporate volunteers (but not limited to these groups). During the week, we encourage employees to get involved who are supported by their employers to take paid time off to complete community service volunteer projects. Faith-based groups will be most active on Saturday.
