"Create-Your-Own" Project Ideas

In honor of Make A Difference Day, the Volunteer Center is asking everyone to get out there and volunteer.  Some opportunities fill up quickly, and for some, it is hard to get out into the community and serve.  In addition to traditional forms of volunteering and one-day volunteer projects, we would like to provide you with some other ideas on how you can make a difference.  Projects may include organizing a fundraiser or collection drive, gathering your neighborhood together to do a “clean-up” or coordinating an entirely new project for an agency of your choice.  The options are endless!

It is important that you contact the agency first about the project, drive or fundraiser that you are interested in participating in to ensure that the need still exists.  We also ask that you host your project during Make A Difference Day (October 20th-25th, 2008).

Once you have your project planned, please let us know about it by completing the Make A Difference Day-Create Your Own Project Registration Form.

A list of possible projects is below.  This is not a comprehensive list…just some ideas.  We welcome other “create-your-own” projects that you develop to support other nonprofit organizations.
